FictionAddiction.NET currently has the following volunteer positions available:

Columnists - Write at least one to two new how-to columns on the writing craft each month in third person point of view. Every columnist will receive his/her own bio page, which can include links to your own Web site. Select columns will be featured in the newsletter for writers, on the home page and throughout the site for high exposure.

Writer Blogs (Applications Are Currently Closed) - Blogs, or online journals, will be kept from a writer's point of view with at least two new posts made per week. Bloggers will cover the writing life and literary news in first person point of view.

Calendar Coordinator (Applications Are Currently Closed) - Seek out literary events to be added to FictionAddiction.NET's Events Calendar. You'll use the Web to search for book tour dates for authors, special appearances, TV/movie events based on books, book fairs, writing conferences and other special literary events. The calendar coordinator will then submit these events to the FictionAddiction.NET calendar for approval. This position will require an ongoing search for calendar content.

Word of the Day Writer (Applications Are Currently Closed) - Search for different and unusual words and their meanings. As the Word of the Day Writer, you will be responsible for producing a different word and its meaning for each day of the month. You will produce half the month's words as there is another writer responsible for the other half of the month. Ability to meet or beat deadlines is a must.

Writing Exercise Writer (Applications Are Currently Closed) - Create writing exercises that spark a writer's creativity. As the Writing Exercise Writer, you will be responsible for producing original, creative writing exercises each month. You will produce half the month's exercises as there is another writer responsible for the other half of the month. Ability to meet or beat deadlines is a must.

Author Chat Host (Applications Are Currently Closed) - Moderate chats with authors in the FictionAddiction.NET chat rooms. Responsibilities include introducing the author, moderating the event by calling on people to answer questions in an orderly fashion, closing the event for further questions before time's up and sending a copy of the chat transcript to the main office for posting to the site.

Prompt Writer (Applications Are Currently Closed) - The prompt writer will create short prompts to keep the writer writing every day. You will produce original writing prompts for half the month every month. Another prompt writer is responsible for the other half of the month. Ability to meet or beat deadlines is required.

News Tip Writer (Applications Are Currently Closed) - Search the Web for interesting stories relating to literature, authors and other relevant news. The news tip writer will submit a very brief summary of the news item as well as the link to the story. This position will require an ongoing search for news to be added to FictionAddiction.NET's newsstand.

These positions are key components of FictionAddiction.NET. If selected, you will be given your own bio page with a picture. You'll also be given a credit on the page you are responsible for that links directly to your FictionAddiction.NET bio page.
