As a law firm, they focus on publishing, art, media, intellectual property, libel, and other matters of particular relevance to our clients; as a literary agency, the agency represents adult literary properties, both fiction and nonfiction, before publishers nationwide and internationally. They are are members of the Association of Authors' Representatives.
NINA GRAYBILL, ESQ.: Founding partner of Graybill & English, Nina is a former editor and cookbook author. Nina has a BA from The American University (BA) and a law degree from George Washington University. As a literary agent, she is especially interested in literary fiction, well-credentialed serious nonfiction (for example, politics, history, culture, race, current events, science, medicine), and narrative nonfiction about compelling topics or people.
ELAINE ENGLISH, ESQ.: Managing Partner of Graybill & English, LLC, Elaine holds degrees from George Washington University (J.D.), the University of Maryland (M.Ed.), and Randolph Macon Women’s College (A.B.). She represents only commercial fiction - particularly mysteries, thrillers, and women's fiction, including romances (especially historical and contemporary romances).
KRISTEN AUCLAIR: Former editor at HarperCollins and publicist for The Lyons Press, Kristen represents a variety of categories and is interested in both literary and commercial novels (but no genre fiction such as mystery or sci-fi), as well as several nonfiction areas including health, parenting, and women's issue.
JEFF KLEINMAN, ESQ.: Jeff holds degrees from Case Western Reserve University (J.D.), the University of Chicago (M.A.), and the University of Virginia (B.A.). Jeff is looking for very well-written, character driven literary and commercial fiction; some science fiction and fantasy, suspense, and thrillers. He also represents a wide variety of narrative and prescriptive nonfiction.
